The wind

Humidity and fog

Humidity and the temporary dampness of fog can make it difficult for paint to adhere to surfaces and to dry properly. Painting the inside when it’s foggy or humid outside can be trouble-free by using a fan for ventilation. Even in the winter, when the heat is on inside, fans are a good idea while painting. Keeping windows open or partially open, and a fan running, is also important for keeping the air fresh and removing dampness.
The fresh air from open windows is critical no matter what time of year you are painting. So, painting on a rainy day, with the possibility of rain coming through an open window, is probably not a good idea. Wait until the rain is over.
Paint quality
Research the best quality paint for the job at hand. Buying the least expensive paint may not save in the end. Use good-quality brushes, rollers, and drop cloths, and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for temperature, cleaning up, and storage.
